The Tampa Bay Buccaneers trail the division-leading Carolina Panthers by 2.5 games in the NFC South.[^1] Baker Mayfield has not played since he dislocated his right thumb during the team's Week 3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.[^2]

That is the situation in Tampa right now: 2.5 games behind, quarterback out.
